The new operating system is based on an integrated Android and Vela system core redesigned from the ground up. HyperOS will debut on the upcoming Xiaomi 14 series phones, marking the beginning of a gradual transition away from MIUI.

While details remain scarce, Xiaomi promises that HyperOS will enable new experiences and capabilities across its product portfolio. The company has not yet showcased the user interface or highlighted any standout features of the refreshed operating system.

Nonetheless, the move to HyperOS underscores Xiaomi’s ambitions to expand its ecosystem beyond phones. The unified platform aims to simplify connectivity and interactions across the brand’s hardware. This future-focused software overhaul sets the stage for Xiaomi to innovate in the emerging IoT space while also boosting its smartphones.
